Heavy Duty Reinforced Conveyor Pulleys
The VAN GORP H·D·R Rims of pulleys 14" in diameter and larger are formed in custom-designed crowning rolls by a cold “forming” process that increases the strength of the steel. They feature two-rim-half construction, an exclusive, perfected technique that permits the use of internal discs in crown and straight face pulleys...and thereby creates a stronger, more rounded finished pulley product.
End discs are cut to micrometer calibration. Rims, discs and hubs are all steel and are fused together by a deep penetrating, submerged arc welding process with back-up bars used under the longitudinal rim welds. The result? A continuously welded drum construction, with its built-in barrier against dirt, water and steam; less maintenance; extended pulley service; and most important, a dramatic reduction in radial deformation and longitudinal deflection in the rim.
