Estevan 9020 Dragline Erection
Follow MinePro Mac as he guides you through the erection of the P&H 9020 dragline. You will see many of the steps necessary to take the 9020 from concept to reality.
The 9020 was purchased by Estevan Coal Corporation in October of 1997 and scheduled to start digging in late fall of 1999. Shortly after the purchase of the 9020, local contractors started building the site facilities. Electric cables and the concrete pad on which the machine was erected were installed before winter. With the arrival of spring 1998, the first components of the dragline started arriving by rail from the P&H Mining Equipment manufacturing facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
In March 1998, an experienced team of local trades persons began the erection of the 6,250 ton dragline. Get the rest of the story from Mac in the following pages.
