MinePro Globally Performing at World Class Levels
The four P&H MinePro regions – Americas North, Americas South, Australasia and International – achieved very significant safety success in the third quarter 2007 by achieving a rolling 12-month safety performance of 1.97 Total Recordable rate and a 0.55 Lost Time rate. These are world-class numbers, and we are very proud of this achievement and the commitment to safety excellence by the over 2,700 MinePro employees who worked approximately 6.2 million hours during the period.
MinePro Americas North Achievements
- The P&H MinePro Maintenance and Repair crew supporting Massey on a 24/7 basis surpassed 4 years without a safety incident.
- P&H MinePro Kilgore, Texas celebrated 3 years without a Lost Time injury.
- P&H MinePro Bartow, Florida Operations achieved zero accidents YTD in Fiscal 2008.
- P&H MinePro Americas North - South Central Operations passed the 1-year milestone without a recordable incident.
- P&H MinePro Canada Edmonton Operations reached 16 months with no Lost Time injuries.
- The P&H Mine Air Systems factory in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was selected as a Worksafe Alberta 2007 Best Safety Performer. Of Alberta's 140,000 employers, 700 earned this award for exceptional performance in workplace health and safety. P&H Mine Air Systems met the following criteria to achieve this distinction:
- Maintained their Certificate of Recognition {COR}
- 60 consecutive person years without a disabling injury
- No fatalities, compliance orders, violations or prosecutions under the OH&S Act.
MinePro Americas South Achievements
- P&H MinePro Chile received several awards in May 2008 from the Chilean National Safety Council for 2007 safety performance.
- The Risk Prevention Excellence award, which is given to companies that have maintained a zero accident rate for 2 or more consecutive years was earned by the Antofagasta Rebuild Shops, the Main Office, and the MARC at Los Pelambres.
- The National Safety Council award, which is given to companies that have accomplished the lowest and significant accident rate within their category, was earned by the Antofagasta Rebuild Shops, the MARC at Chuquicamata, the Main Office, and the MARC at Los Pelambres.
- The Risk Prevention Effort award, which is given to companies that have reduced their accident rates by 25% or more during the year of participation compared to the most recent 2 year average and consecutive rates, went to the MARC’s at Radomiro Tomic, Chuquicamata and Los Pelambres, as well as the Main Office.
- The P&H MinePro Chile Radomiro Tomic Maintenance and Repair Contracteam was recognized by the National Safety Council for a safety video they produced. - 55.6% reduction in Total Recordable Case Rate in 2008 vs. FY 2007
- Currently operating at a 0.40 Total Recordable Rate vs. 0.90 in FY 2007
- 75% reduction in Lost Time Case Rate in 2008 vs. FY 2007
- Currently operating at a 0.2 Lost Time Rate vs. 0.8 in FY 2007
- Has just shy of 2 Million Exposure Hours worked in FY 2008
MinePro Eurasia and Africa Achievements
- P&H MinePro in Eurasia and Africa achieved a million hours without an LTI.
- Currently operating with a Perfect Safety Performance Record with NO recordable injuries in FY 2008
- Has 400,000+ exposure hours in FY 2008
- During the FY 2008, achieved 1 million hours worked without a Lost Time injury and still going.
- P&H MinePro Services Zambia recently celebrated 10 years of without a Lost Time injury.
MinePro Australasia Achievements
- P&H MinePro Australia’s North East Region Electrical team achieved 4 years without a Lost Time injury.
P&H Milwaukee Achievements
- At Milwaukee Operations, the Orchard Street facility reached 1,000,000 hours worked without a Lost Time incident…a major safety milestone! Then they topped that by working for over four years without an incident!
- 76.2% reduction in Total Recordable Case rate in 2008 vs. FY 2007 – going from a 6.30 TRCR to a 1.5 TRCR
